Didgeridoo Pete
A bit about me I am 44 now & have been playing the didgeridoo on & off now for many years & I am still constantly learning. I first heard a didge being played when I visited the Strawberry Fair in Cambridge UK, I was walking round & heard strange enchanting sounds coming from a tipee ( indian tent ) I wandered in sat down around the fire & listened. I had a go on someone's didge and I tried to play, what an idiot I made of myself, as you do! A couple of months later I was down the south coast & wandered past a music shop & in the window was a Didge. I brought it & I was happy, I went to the sea front and started to try & play it. People just walked by laughing and a few kids pointed etc |

I sounded terrible, then this person came over & said he had busked with them, so I asked him nicely to show me what to do & he did for the next 4 hours or so. I tried & tried to pick up circular breathing without any joy. As time passed I picked it up again & again, it wasn't until I was really relaxed that Circular breathing just happened. It took a long time & lots of frustration before it clicked. That's how I got started. Since that day I have been blowing, droning & tooting. I run classes on learning to circular breathe and also offer didgeridoo sound healing which is proving to be very successful for myself and all of my clients! Its easy to discover new friends & other players that come from all walks of life when you sit & play somewhere! Happy Tooting |
